Celebrating the kid’s birthdays is always one of my favorite things to plan. My two middle kids, AC & Noah, happen to share their birthday in September, and 3 days apart at that. Needless to say it’s one of the busiest months for us. This year, we decided to do a joint birthday party, with the boys choosing a Pajama Party theme. With the launching of the this website just before their birthdays I had no choice but to wing it and try and make it as fun & special as possible in a short amount of time to plan. Remember you don’t need a big budget to put something together that will be fun & memorable for your kids…just a little bit of brainpower and Pinterest for some ideas! lol?
There was not the usual inflatable bouncy this time. Instead, we put up a huge family tee-pee style tent courtesy of my brother & his wife, loved it, but that meant I had to keep the kids busy with some warm-up activities while the grown-ups had a yummy brunch with mimosas to beat the heat.
Make-your-own Teddy Bear Pancakes was the way to go! It was a big hit with the kids & they ate them right up. Next we had them make cereal necklaces, I told all the kiddos they had to or else they wouldn’t be allow to participate in the games…I know, but it worked & that kept them busy! Win-Win?
Bobbing for donuts is absolutely the most fun game to play at parties for the kids and it’s funny for everyone watching! You have to try this at your next party! I also did it for a Halloween party last year and it was so fun, the sugar powder gets all over their faces and it’s hilarious! The enthusiasm of these kids is everything!
The next game was who can stack the tallest tower of mini-cereal boxes. These kids take their building skills very seriously thats for sure! Simple game that everybody got into.
Time for a snack break! These colorful cereal & marshmallow treats are really sweet and I could only eat one bite, but they are really good! Find the easy recipe for Fruity Pebbles & Apple Jacks Marshmallow treats here. They tasted like bubble gum ice cream to me. Yum! ????❤️?
The birthday boys, cousins & friends had so much fun with the games & goofing off, we ended the party with a funny Breakfast themed cake. Eggs & Bacon Cake for Noah turning 7 & Pancakes Cake for Ace turning 9. I’m still very much experimenting with fondant and not a huge fan of doing a whole cake with it, but I like it for a few pieces that help support the homemade themed cakes I make. I felt the use of fondant was a must for this type of cake and I have to say, it was so fun to see my boys light up when they saw it and everyone thought it was hilarious. Exactly what I was hoping for …lots of smiles!?

Birthdays are so special, especially for little ones…make it a point to make your little one feel extra special and important on this one day out of the year. My boys have countdowns for their birthdays and it’s just so fun to see life’s milestones thru their eyes. The excitement is contagious.
Happy Birthday Noah… my most curious, happy, excited, funny, silly, and sweet boy!! &
Happy Birthday Ace…my most witty, helpful, funny, smarty-pants, clever, darling boy!!
Happy birthday to all September babies!
Cheers!!
Love love love everything! The cake is perfection, the bobbing for donuts adorable and most of all I love how everything is themed without feeling cheesy! Perfect balance! Cheers to your new site!
Cheers back at you! Thank you so much…you get it! I hate it when everything matches too perfectly…I love themes and I thought it was a decent balance for pulling this party in 3 days! I survived! XO❤️
